Music Alum Earns Respected Conducting Post

Chelsea Tipton II, who earned his Master of Music degree from NIU in 1989, has just been announced as the new Music Director and Conductor of the Symphony of Southeast Texas. Maestro Tipton has served most recently as the Resident Conductor of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, and several other major orchestras in the United States.
