Avalon Quartet Featured at Mayne Stage and on WFMT

NIU's Avalon String Quartet will appear in concert this coming Sunday, May 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Mayne Stage in Chicago. The concert will also be simulcast on WFMT radio, 98.7 FM.

The Quartet recently earned great praise for their performance of Steve Reich's "Different Trains." Reviewer Wynne Delacoma noted "Different Trains is one of the 20th Century's finest chamber music pieces, and the Avalon fully mined its potent repetitions...Call and response were so tightly woven that music became speech and speech became music." (The full review is here)

Different Trains will be repeated on Sunday's Mayne Stage concert. For complete information and ticket information, go here.
