Dance Program Provides High School Workshops

King Prep dance students in one of the NIU dance studios

On Thursday, September 29, the dance program of the NIU School of Theatre and Dance hosted a series of workshops for twenty dance students from King College Prep High School in Chicago, Illinois. The students' dance teacher is Nia Calmese, a graduate of NIU with emphases in art education and dance performance.

Throughout the day, workshops were provided by NIU dance professors Judy Chitwood, Paula Frasz, and Brian Carey Chung. In addition, current NIU dance majors performed for the students from King.
