Percussion Alum Performs Philip Glass Concerto

Conductor Julian Kuerti, Dick Jensen, Philip Glass and Patrick Schleker

Patrick Schleker, a 2004 alumnus of the NIU School of Music and now the Principal Timpanist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, performed as soloist on Philip Glass' "Concerto Fantasy for Two Timpanists and Orchestra" with the CSO and with Mr. Glass present.

Performing the 2nd timpanist part was CSO Assistant Principal Timpanist Dick Jensen. The work features the two soloists performing on 14 timpani!
