Emeritus Professor of Art Featured in Exhibition

Dorothea Bilder, Professor Emeritus of the NIU School of Art, will present an exhibition of her works at the Radmacher Gallery of the Skokie Public Libary. The exhibition runs from January 18 to March 10, 2013.

Dorothea's artwork takes many forms. For this exhibition, viewers can expect to see 70 works, including oil paintings, hand-pulled stone lithographs, and collages. Dorothea is known for depicting landscapes in an ethereal manner in her artwork. He work is often created through the use of telescopes, microscopes, aerial photographs and the like.

This exhibition is titled "Layers of Days," and will coincide with Skokie's noted "Coming Together in Skokie" celebration. Each year for this celebration Skokie features one of the more than 7 dozen cultures that live in their community. This year Greek culture is being celebrated.

The opening reception for Dorothea's exhibition will be this coming Monday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Dorothea will also be present at the Library on January 27 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and provide an artist's talk in the gallery on February 6 at 7:00 p.m. The closing reception will be held on March 10, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
