Dean Holly Appears at International Festival

Rich Holly, Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Northern Illinois University, recently returned from performing at a week-long percussion festival in General Roca, Argentina.

The 11th Patagonia International Percussion Festival featured performers from the United States, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, and Argentina. Hosted by Angel Frette, head of percussion studies at the Instituto Universitario Patagonico de las Artes and sponsored by the Fundacion Cultural Patagonia, the festival attendees were treated to several workshops and concerts each of five days, June 25 through 29.

Dean Holly was the first presenter of the festival, offering a drum set workshop on June 25. He performed the evening concert on June 26, assisted in 2 other concerts, and was a featured performer at the final evening's concert which was open to the public and was attended by a standing-room-only crowd of more than 800 people.
