Clarinet Professor Appears in Italy

Gregory Barrett, professor of clarinet in the NIU School of Music, attended the July 24-28 ClarinetFest of the International Clarinet Association in Assisi, Italy. While at the conference Barrett judged the final round of the Research Competition with presenters from Europe, North America and South America. Among the many performers in Assisi, Barrett participated with a clarinet ensemble comprised of professors from U.S. universities.

Also attending the ClarinetFest were NIU graduates Madelyn Moore, Hannah Qualls and Cosmin Harsian, Assistant Professor of Clarinet at West University of Timisoara, Romania. Dr. Harsian performed with three of his clarinet students.
