Theatre Professors Earn 5-Star Review

Patricia Skarbinski as Juliet

Patricia Skarbinski, assistant professor of movement and acting in the NIU School of Theatre and Dance, performed the lead role in AndrĂ¡s Visky's play "Juliet: A Dialogue About Love" at this summer's Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. The lighting designer for the show was NIU assistant professor of lighting Brandon Wardell, and technical director was NIU theatre alum Joel Huff.

The piece was produced as part of the Sacred Playground Theatre Project based in Chicago, and was one of more than 120 works being produced at the Edinburgh festival.

Of their performance in Edinburgh, reviewer Graeme Strachan of the British Theatre Guide provided a 5-star review, stating "...Visky's a triumphant piece of new theatre that deserves to be seen, consumed and cherished." The entire review is available here.

Congratulations Patricia, Brandon and Joel!
