Art Education Professor Earns National Distinction

We are pleased to announce that Richard Siegesmund, Professor and Head of the Art+Design Education division in the NIU School of Art, has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the National Art Education Association (NAEA).

According to the NAEA handbook, "Distinguished Fellows of the National Art Education Association are members of the NAEA recognized for their leadership and service to the Association and to the profession. They all demonstrate a reasonable profile of accomplishment that extends across several criteria." The several criteria include a strong record of publications, presentations at national and international conferences, serving as an editor of a visual journal, research activities, and the like.

Richard joins NIU Art+Design faculty members Kerry Freedman and Doug Boughton as NAEA Distinguished Fellows.

Congratulations, Richard!
