Photography Professor Receiving Notoriety

Jessica Labatte, newly-appointed Assistant Professor of Photography in the NIU School of Art and Design, will have a busy and productive summer of making and displaying her work.

Jessica has been invited to participate in the Light Work Artist-in-Residence program in Syracuse, NY. This prestigious honor is afforded to only twelve to fifteen artists per year. Jessica will spend the month of June utilizing the state-of-the-art facilities and support staff at Light Work to create several new pieces.

In addition, Jessica's works are included in an exhibition currently on display at Ohio State University, entitled "Fragments of an Unknowable Whole." The exhibition will be up through July 5 and is at the OSU Urban Art Space in Columbus.

Congratulations, Jessica!
